1960s

Ned Daniels
Ned B. Daniels '65, '69
has published a book for grades 5 through 8 called “The Last Child” and is currently working on a sequel. “The Last Child” is about two young teenagers, Stuart and Kate, who summer in Woods Hole on Cape Cod. But it’s what follows their first day visiting together that opens a summer they’ll never forget. A trip to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute turned into adventure as they discover a group of dolphins the in the aquarium who could understand and communicate in Portuguese. This discovery stumps all the scientists! What happens next surprises not only the head of a critical department in the Institute, but also shocks the world: Stuart, Kate, and the research doctors at the Institute discover there is an Atlantis. They go on to meet the Last Child, a princess of Atlantis, her father, a prince, and finally King, the king of Atlantis, but not before a lot happened to make their summer one they’ll never forget.

recently toured the UNICEF's Humanitarian Supply Warehouse in Copenhagen, attended the United Nations event in Washington, DC to recognize the partnership between Rotary International and UNICEF regarding polio eradication and will give the Keynote Address at the Rotary Presidential Conference in Turkey in February 2025.

was inducted into the Fitchburg State Athletics Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 20 for Outstanding Student Athlete, Men's Basketball.

has been named Senior Vice President in Government Relations for The Liberty Square Group, a Boston-based communications and public affairs firm. Flanagan formerly served as a State Senator and Cannabis Control Commission for Massachusetts.

was inducted into the Fitchburg State Athletics Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 20 for Outstanding Student Athlete, Men's Ice Hockey.
Stephen Rogers
Stephen J. Rogers '90
During the month of November, the 62nd Lights for Peace flag to fly at the Fort Taber - Fort Rodman Military Museum honors the memory of United States Army veteran Stephen Joseph Rogers from New Bedford. Rogers received his bachelors in education from Fitchburg State in occupational/vocational education in 1990.  
Dee Sendrowski
Deborah "Dee" R. Sendrowski '92
has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at Leominster-based Fidelity Bank. Sendrowski has been part of the HR team at Fidelity since 2013.

Scott A. Cohen '09
was recognized by Mansfield Public School's Superintendent for his 26 years of service to the school system. Cohen received his CAGS in Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State.

successfully defended her dissertation and will be completing her Ph.D. in History from the University of Nevada.

Phillip S. Speer '06

has been named to The Hollywood Reporter's 35 Rising Executives 35 and Under list. For the past three decades, The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Next Generation issue — THR‘s definitive list of the year’s 35 best and brightest individuals age 35 and under — has been tapping the future of Hollywood leadership.   
Sam deManbey
Samantha C. deManbey '12
created a short documentary, "One World is Writing," that has screened at festivals throughout the US this past year. It was an official selection at the NYC Indie Theatre Festival, Nevada International Women's Festival, IFFBoston, Shawna Shea Film Festival, and Reading Film Festival. At the Shawna Shea Film Festival it won the award for Best Experimental Short. Currently deManbey publishes essays and reviews on her documentary focused website, The Subjective Observer.
David Ginisi
David J. Ginisi '16
has been named the new role of chief marketing and communications officer for social service nonprofit Worcester Community Action Council. Ginisi, a Worcester native and member of the Worcester Business Journal 40 Under Forty Class of 2021, most recently served as the senior director of marketing and development for The Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg, Leominster, and Gardner.

was inducted into the Fitchburg State Athletics Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 20 for Outstanding Student Athlete, Field Hockey and Women's Basketball.
Jessica Maffetore
Jessica S. Maffetore '13
released her debut fiction novel, Eleanora in Pieces, September 5, 2024 from publisher Black Rose Writing. It is the story of a mother struggling to survive the years following the unexplained disappearance of her 4-year-old son. Her writing has also been published in a number of literary magazines including Poetry Quarterly, Third Wednesday and Clare Literary Journal and she was a guest columnist for the Fitchburg Sentinel & Enterprise.
Matthew Popino
Matthew J. Popino '18
has been hired as Head Football Coach for the Carthage College Firebirds. Prior to this, Popino spent five seasons on the coaching staff at Endicott College. He received is masters in Applied Communications from Fitchburg State in 2018.

has joined the Governors America Corp. (GAC), a veteran-owned, Massachusetts-based, global manufacturer of innovative engine-control products as their new Business Development Lead. James received his MBA from Fitchburg State.
Kimberly Faulconer
Kimberly A. Faulconer '24
is a new middle school counselor in Bromfield. She received her masters in counseling from Fitchburg State in 2024.
Jordyn Gagliardi
Jordyn T. Gagliardi '24
has joined the Chatham Police Force after finishing the Fitchburg State Police Program, where she attained the highest physical fitness scores. While she was a student, Gagliardi was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society and was the Treasurer of the Criminal Justice Club. She also completed internships at the Ayer and Lunenburg Police Departments.
Haleigh Medlin

has been named Head Coach for the Narragansett High School Girls Soccer Team. Medlin played for the Falcons during her time here at Fitchburg State and plans to take that collegiate experience and use it to challenge her players.
