Transfer Equivalencies

You can use the PDFs below to view how courses would transfer from another Massachusetts institution to Fitchburg State University. Also included are PDF course equivalencies of Advanced Placement (AP) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP).

Courses must have a grade of C- (1.7) or better and be non-developmental in order to be considered for transfer.

A maximum of 75 semester hours of transfer credit will be accepted for coursework taken at two-year institutions, college level examinations, the military and/or advanced placement courses. The maximum increases to 90 semester hours if from a four-year baccalaureate institution.

Credit can be granted for Advanced Placement (AP) examination with a score of 3 or higher.

Credit can be granted for College Level Examination Program (CLEP) with a score of 50 or higher. Criminal Justice majors can earn no more than 12 credits through examination.

Official transfer credit evaluations are conducted by the Registrar's Office when a student is admitted to the University.
