Summer Institute for Journalism Education

About This Event

This free event will be at Fitchburg State University on August 12-14, 2024. The days will run 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the event is open to the public. Breakfast, coffee, and lunch will be provided on all days for those who register

Our keynote speaker will be Dan Kennedy from Northeastern University, speaking about his latest book What Works in Community News: Media Startups, News Deserts, and the Future of the Fourth Estate (with Ellen Clegg).

This conference is ideal for high school educators and college instructors looking to expand their knowledge base in this growing field. The Summer Institute is a wonderful opportunity for participants to develop key concepts in research, apply new lessons to the classroom, and address educators across the Commonwealth and beyond about issues facing journalism, news literacy, and new media technologies.
