The Perkins and Nursing Loan funds are revolving funds affording current and future students with the same opportunity to borrow funds for educational expenses. The Perkins/Nursing Loans are federal loans and Fitchburg State University is the lending institution. We work with Heartland ECSI to service these loans. Please direct your questions regarding your loan visit their website at Heartland ECSI or call 1.888.549.3274. All statements regarding your loan will come from Heartland ECSI.
When a student leaves Fitchburg State, either by graduating, transferring, withdrawing, dropping to half time student status or are expelled, they must satisfy their obligation of repaying these loans. At the time of separation, an exit interview is required either in person or by mail. At that time the rights and responsibilities are reviewed. The borrower receives a statement of his or her rights and responsibilities regarding the loan, a copy of the promissory note, a final truth-in-lending statement, repayment schedule, an exit questionnaire and checklist. These four forms must be completed, signed and dated and returned to Fitchburg State. The borrower should retain a copy of each for their record.
Please make loan payments payable to Fitchburg State University and mail to:

Payments are due on the tenth of each month. There is a nine-month grace period following separation from Fitchburg State before the first payment is due.
