Georgie Friedman will present “Light, Video and Experiential Art” at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Fitchburg State University celebrated Veterans Day with a ceremony honoring those who served and paying tribute to a fallen alumnus with the re-dedication of a memorial on the university quadrangle.

"A Woman of No Importance" was chosen as a Best Book of the Year by NPR, the New York Public Library, Amazon, the Seattle Times, the Washington Independent Review of Books, PopSugar, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, BookBrowse, the Spectator, and the Times of London.

Dr. Kisha Tracy’s book, which can be downloaded for free, was created for first-year writing students.

“I was privileged to accompany these remarkable young women as they were able to be at the table with government dignitaries, financial leaders, and elected officials to discuss their experiences as first-generation college students."

There will be an opening reception with the artist at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24.

The short films by Hiroya Sakurai are on display through Jan. 10, 2025.

The month's opening events include a Pride flag raising ceremony on Oct. 1.

Fitchburg State was among the highest performing public institutions in Massachusetts for social mobility.

Moore will discuss his work at a gallery reception at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.
