Benefits of a 4+1 Program

  • Guaranteed admission into the graduate program for students who maintain their academic standing and meet admission qualifications.
  • Qualified students move directly from their bachelor's degree to their master's program with no additional admission requirements (except for Education, see below).
  • Waived application fee (Education also waives the requirement of an essay and letters of recommendation).

4+1 Program Options

B.S. and M.S. in Criminal Justice - Police Program (4+1) Concentration

Additional benefits of this program: Students in this program will complete the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) concentration, which leads to both a master of science in criminal justice and a certificate of completion from the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee.

Students interested in this 4+1 program must apply at the same time of admission to their bachelor's program.

B.S. Business Administration and MBA

Students may take up to 6 graduate credits in the MBA 15-week campus-based program after reaching 90 credits in their undergraduate program. These 6 credits can be transferred into the online accelerated MBA if students choose to move to that program after the completion of their undergraduate degree. Students can complete their MBA program in under 12 months, saving time and money. Students must maintain an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 to be eligible.

Students may apply to this program at the time of admission to their bachelor's degree or up until they have earned 90 or fewer credits. Current undergraduate students who wish to apply must complete the 4+1 Major Selection Form (Dynamic Forms) and forward to their advisor for approval.

B.S.E. and Master of Education in Pedagogy and Learning

Additional benefits of this program: Students in this program can begin their graduate coursework in the semester immediately following completion of their bachelor's and have a seamless transition from their undergraduate to graduate program.

Students may formally indicate an interest at the time of admission up until their senior year. Students should formally apply to the 4 + 1 program during the first semester of their senior year. Current undergraduate students who wish to apply must complete the 4+1 Major Selection Form (Dynamic Forms) and forward to their advisor for approval.

  • Students are still required to complete an application to the M.Ed. in Pedagogy and Learning in their senior year.
  • Students must successfully complete all the requirements (including successful passage of all required MTELs) for the initial license in the undergraduate licensure program, in order to qualify for the graduate program.
