Tailor your education to your interests and goals in one of five concentrations, each involving courses that delve deep into a particular subject:
Accounting Concentration
In the Accounting concentration, students develop an in-depth understanding of accounting principles, as well as taxation and auditing.
Our Professional Accounting Certificate, in combination with the Accounting concentration, aids students who want to take the CPA exam after graduation. The certificate includes additional courses for students aiming for public accounting positions, and students can apply the credits earned toward their bachelor's degree in business administration.
Entrepreneurship Concentration
Students in the Entrepreneurship concentration use and apply a creative entrepreneurial mindset to better identify opportunities for innovation, challenge the status quo, and implement sustainable change. This specialized study prepares them with the professional skills to drive positive business outcomes in a range of industries, from tech to finance and retail to media.
Information Systems Management
The Information Systems Management concentration teaches students to link business needs to decision-making using information systems. To prepare individuals for a career in this growing and in-demand field, the concentration offers courses that help students develop proficiency in managing software projects and cybersecurity while navigating social and ethical impacts.

Management Concentration
Functioning as an effective leader requires the ability to manage individuals with varying backgrounds and areas of expertise. The Management concentration prepares students to do so over four distinct courses. As they prepare for leadership roles within the business world, students gain a deep knowledge and understanding of management theories, policies, and procedures.
Marketing Concentration
The Marketing concentration prepares students for the ever-evolving field of marketing. Students learn about consumer behavior, advertising, market research, and international business management. Through case studies and partnerships with businesses and nonprofit organizations, the marketing strategies course empowers students with the skills to design and implement effective marketing campaigns.
Program Length
Business majors complete 48 credits toward the liberal arts and sciences (LAS) core, the specific requirements for the major, minor, and/or chosen concentration, several additional major-required LAS courses, and elective courses for a minimum of 120 credits. In total, students can complete the accelerated online business bachelor’s degree program in two years.
Earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business in Five Years
Our 4+1 program enables students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in just five years, greatly accelerating the undergraduate and graduate school timeline. Fitchburg State offers several concentrations in the MBA program, most of which can also be completed online.

Admissions Requirements
Students seeking admission to the online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program must submit the following materials:
- Completed online application.
- Official high school transcript
- High school transcripts are not required if the student has earned an associate degree. Rather, these students should send their official associate degree transcript for admission consideration.
Optional materials:
- Standardized test scores: students are asked to indicate whether they would prefer to be considered "test-optional" on their application form.

Tuition and Fees
At Fitchburg State University, we aim to make education as accessible as possible, and last year alone, we awarded $43 million in financial aid to our students through merit- and need-based aid.
Note that day students are allowed to enroll in School of Graduate, Online, and Continuing Education (SGOCE) courses; however, this may impact their bill since full-time day students pay more for every credit beyond 12 credits when any of the credits are SGOCE courses.
Please also note that payment for SGOCE courses is due at the time of registration.

Requirements and Curriculum
Students build a solid foundation in business concepts through courses such as Principles of Management, Business Finance, Business Law, and Business Policy and Strategy. In addition, general education classes build fundamental skills in communication, procedural and logical thinking, and quantitative reasoning.
Beyond the basics, each concentration offers carefully designed courses that establish the knowledge and abilities necessary for entry-level positions in finance, accounting, information systems, management, marketing, or entrepreneurship.
