Library student employees play a vital part in the daily operation of the Library, from providing vital quality customer service to helping to keep the stacks in order. Our student employees are essential to the Library’s mission.

This year's recipient of the Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Library Outstanding Student Employee Award is Andrew Dorr.

Andrew has been a student worker at the Library since 2021. He is majoring in Education, and will be graduating in May, with plans to pursue a Masters degree and will be working as an elementary school teacher.

Andrew has repeatedly proven to be a responsible and dedicated student worker, who has gone above and beyond to do outstanding work on all of his projects, including special project work for the Archive's Robert E. Cormier Collection, which connected the locations in Cormier’s books I Am the Cheese and Frenchtown Summer with the corresponding real life places.

Even with a busy schedule that included student teaching, Andrew has always been a dependable student worker, covering hours during the academic year, as well as over breaks.

Over the his time at the Library, Andrew's willingness to learn new skills and try new things enabled him to worked across most of the departments in the library, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in our library, which has made him an even more valuable member of our team.

While we will miss Andrew as he moves on to the next phase of his life, the Library staff is excited for him to begin his career as a teacher!

In recognition of Andrew’s excellent service, the book The Book with No Pictures by B.J. Novak was purchased and dedicated in his honor to the Library’s collection.
