Services for Faculty

Departmental Liaisons

Each academic department has a librarian liaison assigned to it. The liaison’s role is to connect you and your students to library services, collections, and resources that support academics on campus. Librarians are able to support faculty through research consultations.

Library Classes & Instruction

We offer information literacy instruction for faculty and to students. Librarians can provide training on the use of electronic resources, citation management tools such as RefWorks, and the overall research process which can include developing a research question, locating and evaluating information, drawing conclusions, and presenting findings.

Recommend Purchases

All members of the Fitchburg State community may recommend materials to be added to the Library's collection. Librarians review requests for books, e-books, journals, research databases, and streaming media and make a determination on whether it should be added to the collection based on a variety of criteria.
