Class Seed Library Experience
Gardening in the Library?
In mid-March Dr. Min Li's SOC 2025 Environmental Sociology class visited the Library for a bit of an unusual learning experience (at least for a library space).
Reference and Research Services Librarian Sherry Packard, who is an avid gardener, taught students how to plant a variety of vegetable seeds in pots.
The planting activity included a discussion on the social benefits and challenges associated with seed libraries nationwide including biodiversity and seed consolidation, as well as how seed libraries can impact our relationship with food on a both a personal and community level.
