Introducing the Seed Library!
With Earth Day just past and planting season just ahead, the Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Library is excited to announce the launch of our pilot seed library!
What is a seed library?
A seed library is a system for a community to share seeds! The idea is that seeds are provided to community members for free and when able to do so, some community members donate seeds back to the library for others to use.
Where is the seed library located?
The seed library is located along the big wall of windows near the front entrance on the first floor. Seeds are organized alphabetically in a card catalog cabinet.
How does it work?
Seeds are free for an FSU and public patrons to take. We just ask that you please take what you will realistically have time to plant and tend.
Once some of your veggies, fruits, or flowers come to maturity, we encourage you to consider harvesting and donating some seeds back to the seed library for others to plant the following season.
